(Part: 6) Fallen For Vampire (Manan)

I froze as in front of my eyes, he killed both the person brutally who tried to rape me a few minutes back. Like an animal, he bit their neck and killed them. His eyes became bloodshot red and after killing them. He stared at me, wiping off the blood from his mouth. I was dumbfounded, he was a vampire, he drank human blood to survive. I was really feeling like I was dreaming. The truth was unbelievable and unexpected. I was just looking at him incredulously.

If he drinks human blood then why he didn’t kill me yet? This question popped into my mind when he was striding to me, staring at me with his blazing eyes.

Even after knowing that he’s a vampire, I’m not afraid of him because he’s my saviour. He always protects me.

“See, I’m a vampire who kills innocent people and drinks human blood for survival, you should be scared of me, I am a monster.” He said after dangerously coming close to my face.

“No, you’re not a monster. I am sure, you don’t kill innocent people. The people whom you killed today, they were Monster, not you. I don’t care if you’re a vampire. I only know that you’re my protector.” I stated with full confidence because my heart had full trust in him.

He grasped my arms and yanked me to himself. “I am a monster and you have to believe this.” He growled at me. His acts were vividly showing me that he wanted to make me believe that he was a monster.

“No, I don’t believe this. If you really were a monster, then you would have killed me instead of saving my life every time. Manik, if this is the reason you are hiding your feeling and pain from me, then I wanna tell you, I don’t care that you are a vampire, I still love you, I love you so much.” I confessed my love, holding the collars of his blazer. He’s just staring at me with a sullen look.

“I am not hiding anything, I am showing the real me to you and you have to believe that you fell in love with a monster.” He stated sternly and jerked me away from himself.

“Why he’s constantly trying to make me believe that he’s a monster?” I wondered, staring at him bemusedly.

He wagged his finger at me and warned me sternly. “I’m dropping you at home and if you speak a word, I will kill you.”

“Oh, I’m scared,” I said sarcastically and he gave me a deadly glare.

“I said no word.” He bawled, I flinched a bit.

“I think it is useless to argue with him. Can’t he see I’m not scared of him?” I wondered and decided to stay quiet.

He pulled his black leather jacket out of his arms. He was wearing a white shirt beneath it. “Wear it.” He ordered, extending the jacket towards me.

“Do Monsters share their jackets with others?” I asked in a low voice, taking the jacket. He rolled his eyes and muttered something under his breath.

I wore it. “You’re such a stubborn girl.” He uttered before lifting me in his strong arms. He was really so cold but I feel safe in his arms. I encircled my arms around his neck and rested my head over his chest.

Then with a blink of my eyes, we were out of the forest, standing in front of his car. He ran so fast, faster than the car. Suddenly I felt an urge to know more about him. I became curious to know about vampires. What more power the have? I had read a bit about them. I only knew that they drink blood to survive.

He opened the door and made me sit inside the car. I’m just gazing at him, but he wasn’t looking at me. He closed the door and sat down on the driving seat. He started the car engine without looking at me.

The whole way, I remained silent and kept staring at him. I wanted to ask so many things from him but remained silent because I had no other option because he wouldn’t tell anything to me. I just couldn’t believe that I was sitting beside the vampire.

I could vividly see the pain in his eyes. “Why he is still hiding pain inside him and trying to prove himself a monster when I know the truth? If this wasn’t the reason for his strange behaviour, then what? What more he’s hiding from me?” I was wondering, staring at him. I really wanted to help him.

After an hour, he stopped the car in front of my house. He stepped out of the car and opened the door of my side, still not looking at me. I climbed out of the car, my gaze fixed at his face.

“Please, don’t go, I will die without you,” I said in low voice, holding his hand. He finally moved his to me, they were filled with immense anger. I was pleading to him through my eyes to stay with me.

“Stay away from me or else I will kill you.” He pushed me away with the pressure that I fell on the road. I hissed in pain, holding my leg which was bleeding. I squeezed my eyes shut and pursed my lips to bear the pain, tears trickled down my cheeks mechanically.

I knew he was hurting me like this just to prove me that he doesn’t care for me, but still it was hurting me. He was a vampire, this was such a big thing but still, I didn’t have any problem. Why couldn’t he see my love?

I turned my face to look at him, but he was nowhere. My eyes were desperately searching for him.

My chest became heavy with pain and I cried hysterically. “Manik, you can’t go leaving me alone.” I screamed, feeling wretched. I could feel him standing near to me, I was sure that he was listening to me. I didn’t know why, but I could always feel his presence.

“Manik, I love you, I will die without you.” I shrieked, crying and suddenly it started raining heavily as like the god was also crying with me. I didn’t want to lose him, I didn’t know why I loved him, I only knew one thing that my soul was craving for him.

What do you think, why he still wanted to make her believe that he’s a monster?

There’s a lot more store in this story.
